Corporate responsibility

Highly environmentally focused, we strive to minimise our business’ carbon footprint locally and nationally - regularly self-auditing our production and business practices to identify new ways to reduce our impact on the environment.

We specialise in the production of recycled products. We make every effort to maximise the amount of recycled plastic used in all our production processes and we recycle 100% of the scrap produced in our production processes.

We use a minibus to transport our employees from their homes – so they don’t have to use their own cars.

And we are currently investigating the use of ‘renewable’ power sources in our factory.

Green initiatives

As leading innovators in the area of biodegradable and compostable bags and film, we are resolved to making a real difference to the world around us.

In conjunction with the Tree Appeal, for example, we have begun planting trees at schools, woodlands and other sites in and around the UK.

We also manufacture a specialist range of environmental films and bags from our site in Suffolk, all of which are exceptionally strong at thin gauges - reducing the amount of material needed in production and enabling faster biodegradation (read more at www.wastenotnow.co.uk).

Our compostable film will fully compost – to water, carbon dioxide and biomass in negligible quantities – in six to eight weeks.

EN13432 accredited, our film is suitable for local authority collection schemes and home composting.

To encourage wider adoption of compostable film, we are happy to manufacture products in small quantities – to support customers’ ongoing trials. Consequently, our range of biodegradable packaging products is growing every day.

Tree Appeal

Globally, humankind uses around 25% more natural resources than the planet can replace.

In partnership with the Tree Appeal, we are working hard to minimise our own impact on the environment, by planting a tree for every 500 rolls of compostable bags and recycled refuse sacks we manufacture.

These trees complete the cycle that our compostable products begin when they themselves are composted. And they provide valuable wildlife habitats too - helping to ensure a greener world for generations to come.

The Tree Appeal's initiatives are supported by David Bellamy and help responsible companies such as ours to give back to the environment, by planting native broad-leaf trees throughout the UK.
